Angel Comedy Kickstarter

Angel Comedy have run one of London’s most popular comedy nights since 2010, from a room above a pub. In 2016 I worked with them to help fund and launch their very own permanent venue, called The Bill Murray.

Our successful Kickstarter campaign raised £46,643, smashing the £20,000 target. Importantly, the campaign was supported by more than 1000 backers — now the club’s Founder Members.

The club was voted London’s best small comedy venue in the 2017 Chortle Awards and best London venue in 2018. Despite a pandemic, they’re still going strong.

As well as devising and running the Kickstarter campaign, I produced the campaign and update videos, wrote web copy, magazine content and press releases.

Angel Comedy is very much a community comedy club. That community is home to a host of talented people, many of whom contributed their talents — design, script editing, production, Kickstarter campaigning, carpentry — to this campaign.
